- Hanukkiah: An eight-branched menorah with a ninth branch that holds the shamash – the helper candle that is used to light the other candles. The hanukkiah is lit to recall the miracle that took place at the time of the Maccabees, when a one-day supply of oil found in the desecrated Temple lasted eight days.
- Latke Plate: A dish used to serve the traditional potato pancakes served during the holiday of Hanukkah.
Purim:
- Gregger: A gregger, or noisemaker, is used to drown out Haman’s name when reading from the Scroll of Esther.
Passover:
Depending on your religious observance, you may need to purchase a Kiddush Cup, Candlesticks Hand Washing Set and Havdalah Set for this holiday that are separate from your Sabbath items. This is due to the fact that it is customary to keep items that have been near chametz, or leavened bread, away from your Passover items.
- Elijah’s Cup: A ceremonial cup that is used at the Passover seder table. Elijah the prophet is said to visit the seder table and drink from the cup.
- Matzah Tray: A tray used to hold the traditional unleavened bread eaten during Passover.
- Miriam's Cup: A cup filled with water and placed on the Passover seder table to honor the prophetess Miriam.
- Seder Plate: A platter designed to hold six symbolic foods used during the Passover seder.
