April 2009 - Tips, eNews, and More
Spring has arrived and the warmer weather is just around the corner.

If you've been thinking about your smile lately, you're not alone! Many people visiting our office have been asking about rejuvenating their smile for the upcoming summer. Call us today or request an appointment here, to discuss any of our services that can help you achieve the smile you desire.

Reminder:
As the temperature outside climbs, the temptation to get away for the weekend increases with it. While we encourage you to take full advantage of the weather, we ask that you remember appointments made to come in and see us. That time is reserved exclusively for you and we require two business days notice (by phone) for any appointment changes or cancellations.

April is Oral Health Month. Your oral health offers a window to your overall well being. Proper oral hygiene and early detection of potential problems can greatly benefit your health. Take a moment during your lunch break today to learn more about oral health month and the benefits of proper oral care. Two great places to start are the Ontario Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association.

April is Daffodil Month in support of Cancer Awareness. For more information click any of the links. April also hosts National Dental Hygienists Week April 19-25, and April 22 is Earth Day.

Until next month keep smiling,

Dr. Larry Podolsky, Dr. Howard Rosen and staff.

Mouthwash
So you were in a hurry, you picked up your mouthwash and had a quick rinse before you left the house, that's as good as brushing...right? WRONG!

Mouthwashes are effective at masking bad breath and as effective as rinsing with water with regards to removing surface particles.

Don't get me wrong, I like to rinse with my favorite minty wash before I head out for the day, but it is no substitute for brushing and flossing.

In fact, a mouthwash is most effective right after a good brush and floss as it rinses away anything that was loosened and kills bacteria that still remain behind.
