   June 2009 - Sunshine Edition!

Hopefully the gorgeous weather outside has given us a preview of what summer has to offer.

This year summer officially begins on June 21. Patio season is ideal for getting together with family and friends, creating countless photo opportunities. If you are interested in bringing out your most beautiful smile for the summer months give us a call or request an appointment here. Now is a great time for to discuss the smile of your dreams!

Did you know?
June 21st is the summer solstice, having the longest period of daylight during the year in our hemisphere. If you are looking for a reason to get outside around lunch time, try this: if you look at your shadow outdoors at noon on the 21st, it will be your shortest 'noontime' shadow of the year...That's worth a look!

Summer Break?
If you are planning a trip or your children are getting ready to travel over the summer Break, now is a great time to come in for a cleaning and a check-up! Remember, a break from your regular schedule should not include a break from proper oral hygiene!

Have a great month and Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there,

Dr. Larry Podolsky, Dr. Howard Rosen and staff.

White Fillings
Remember years ago, when you'd visit your dentist and find out that you had a cavity even though you couldn't see it. You'd schedule an appointment to have it filled and return in a week or so. On your return visit the doctor would fill your tooth and prevent the future problems that could arise from a growing cavity. Upon looking in a mirror however you'd noticed that there was an awful looking silver filling. You almost wished it was still the cavity that you couldn't see.

Protect Your Winning Smile
So we're a nation full of hockey players. Early morning practices, interesting smelling hockey bag, and missing teeth.

Damaged teeth are a common injury in our sporting youth and adults. Most sporting leagues demand that participants wear appropriate safety equipment such as helmets, face masks, back and shoulder protection etc. Yet for some reason it's up to the participant to choose to protect their teeth.

Mouth guards are an effective way to keep your smile in place and offer increased facial protection, should you choose to "take one for the team".

If you play hockey or most sports for that matter you should speak to us about creating a properly fitted mouth guard. I can't guarantee that you'll keep your winning record, but I can help you protect your winning smile.
