We hope you took advantage of the unseasonably warm start to November as the winter weather is undoubtedly on its way. Remember though, the colder temperatures are no reason to hibernate: there are countless Fall activities at our fingertips in Ontario.

This month is a great time to finish up the chores in and around your home in preparation for the upcoming winter season. We've included some tips to help get you started.

The DNDC team would like to welcome two new members.

Dr. Sofia Khan is the newest dentist to join the DNDC practice. She enjoys providing preventive and comprehensive dental treatment to patients of all ages and is already proving to be a great addition to the team.

Eva is our newest dental assistant. We are sure you will appreciate her friendly personality and level of professionalism.

Is it time for a cleaning or to have your dental work completed?
If your dental benefits are based on the calendar year, your maximums may not roll over into the New Year. If you don't use them they will go to waste.

There is still much to be done to prepare for the winter months ahead. Here are some reminders to keep you on top of things:

If you haven't done so already, remember to rake the leaves, weed, feed and aerate the lawn one last time before the snow comes.
If your pet 'uses the yard', it is a good time to clean up after them (you'll be glad you did when the snow melts in the spring).

If you have trees that overhang your roof, remember to clean out the gutters.

Turn off the water to the outdoor faucets, empty your hoses, roll them up and store them properly (this will save you from needing a new one next year).
If you have a humidifier clean the filter, make sure it still works. Change the filter in your furnace and make sure the heating system in your residence is working (the first cold snap is no time for a surprise) ...Continue reading here.


At our office we offer both supervised in-office teeth whitening as well as whitening trays that you can use in the comfort of your own home. While personal makeover programs may have helped bring whitening and other cosmetic procedure to the public's attention, the positive results of whitening speak for themselves.
Many of our patients have asked us about the pros and cons of whitening, so we are including them in this issue of our eNewsletter.


The negatives associated with whitening are generally short term.

The results of teeth whitening are noticeable after a single visit and will be noticed by those around you. This may be a disadvantage if you are self-conscious.
