While summer officially starts on June 21, weather-wise it appears to have come early this year. There are many festivals and events that come through our city this time of year, click here to find out what is going on!
Off for the summer?
If your children are off for the next few months, please remind them that a break from their schedule does not mean a break from proper oral hygiene. Especially if they are off to camp or traveling, get them in for an appointment before they leave so we can ensure that they get started in the right direction.
If you are interested in bringing out your brightest and healthiest smile for inevitable photo opportunities of the summer months, give us a call or request an appointment here. Now is a great time to discuss the smile of your dreams.
Reminder:
We understand the impulses and spontaneity that the summer can bring, please remember to notify us at least 48 hours in advance by phone if a summer activity creates the need to reschedule an appointment with us.
Happy Father’s Day on June 20 to all of the dads out there!

You've been told that maintaining a daily brushing and flossing regiment is important, but why?
In short: Infrequent oral hygiene and improper brushing techniques add to your risk of oral health issues. One problem that is of particular interest is periodontal disease.
What is Periodontal Disease?
Periodontal Disease is an infection of the gums. It results from bacteria living under your gumline which your body tries to get rid of by destroying the bone around your teeth in turn creating a pocket. The deeper the pocket the more room bacteria and plaque have to attach the structure of your tooth. A healthy pocket depth is commonly around one millimeter deep. Periodontal Disease occurs when these pockets reach 4 millimeters deep or more! If left untreated periodontal disease can cause progressive irreversible bone loss around the teeth, looseness of the teeth and eventually tooth loss.

Making a smoothie is a great way to start the day, especially as the hotter weather makes the desire to eat a large meal diminish. Not only do refreshing smoothies give you energy first thing in the morning - they can be a lot fun to make!
I like to create a new theme in my blender using different flavours and textures every few days. They all have one thing in common - they are packed full of raw, organic, fruits, vegetables and superfoods!
Making a smoothie is a great way to absorb a whole bunch of nutrients all at once. Smoothies can be full of fiber and vitamins and depending on what you put into them. You can use them for your daily dose of protein, antioxidants and healthy fats.
What could be more delicious than a creamy smoothie that fills you up and gives your body the nutrition and vitality that it requires to thrive?
