Someone once told us that there is no good weather, there is no bad weather, there is only weather. Our advice is to dress appropriately, grab an umbrella and enjoy the summer months. The warm weather outside is great for staying active and the rainy days that move you indoors can be used to practice your colder month activities.
Taste of the Danforth
Friday August 7th to Sunday August 9th Greektown celebrated its annual Taste of the Danforth.
For those of you who ventured out on these days, you already know what a success and wonderful event it was.
Thank you to all our patients and friends who took the time to come and visit the clinic on Friday & Saturday. We were giving out beach balls on the street and t-shirts to patients who had appointments on those days.
Here's to another great Taste of the Danforth celebration!
Calling All Artists
One of Danforth Neighbourhood Dental Centre's focal points is the Artists Wall. We post new works of art or photography every 2-3 months!
We love to display various pieces and art styles, for all to enjoy and appreciate. In the past it has been local artists displaying their artwork. We think it might be nice to give our patients an opportunity to display their artwork!
Please contact Nori at 416-466-8003 or at nori@dndc.ca and send us a sample of your art or photography, if you are interested.

"Brush your teeth... round and round" we all remember the song. It's amazing, though, how many people still use improper brushing techniques. Brushing your teeth
properly with a good tooth brush is your best line of defense against cavity-causing plaque between dental visits.
Improper brushing can be just as, if not more, harmful than plaque itself. Brushing too hard or using an improper tooth brush can erode enamel on the sides and tops of
your teeth as well as damage your gums. Don't be discouraged though, proper brushing technique is easy and rewarding.
It is recommended that you brush your teeth after every meal, and especially before your go to sleep, as bacteria will remain unchallenged for an extended period while you
sleep.

We all have band aids an anti-bacterial cream for those little scrapes and bruises but how do you manage injuries to your teeth? We have compiled a few tips to help you deal with dental emergencies in your home. Remember: seek professional help for any tooth, gum or jaw injuries.
- Never put any pain killers on the gum as it can burn the gum tissue. Clean your mouth by rinsing it out with warm water, and gently floss around the tooth to remove debris.
- Contact your dentist immediately! Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to minimize swelling.
- Rinse your mouth out very gently, but do not scrub the tooth, or remove any tissue attached to it. When rinsing your mouth out be sure to block the drain to prevent the tooth from disappearing. Keep the tooth in a small container or cup of milk, bring it with you and visit the dentist.
- Wipe the area clean with a cloth, and apply a cold compress to minimize any swelling.
In any emergency seek professional medical help immediately. For those minor scrapes and bruises these tips will help you start your trip to recovery on the right foot.
