Cosmetic dentistry is the general term used to describe what dentists may do to improve your appearance. But don't be misled: the improvement in your appearance often leads to improvement in your overall physical (and mental) health.


Often, patients perceive that their teeth are crooked, chipped, stained, or too dark, leading to a smile that's just not right. Cosmetic dentistry aims to correct, repair or cover the imperfection improving the appearance of the patient's smile and often their self confidence.

As a mammal you only have two sets of teeth, essentially baby and permanent teeth. We know that good oral health is essential to overall health and well being. So when you stop to think about it, your teeth need to last you a lifetime!

The loss of even a single permanent tooth can affect more than just your smile!

The space left by a missing tooth leaves the surrounding teeth, jawbone and gums susceptible to future maladies. A missing or damaged tooth must be replaced to avoid these further problems before they start.

You may remember the old song ...your gum tissue is connected to your blood stream, your blood streams connected to your ...everything! It may not be a catchy tune but you get the picture.
Now reptiles on the other hand replace teeth as they are lost. So the way I see it you should take care of your teeth and mouth as if your life depended on it ...or become a reptile.
