March 2009
It's finally March and with all luck, warm weather will soon follow.
In the words of Mark Twain, "It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"
Let us all take a page from Twain and a cue from Spring to go out and achieve what we most desire!

TOOTHPASTE TALK
Have you ever wondered what's in toothpaste? Although the exact formula for each brand of toothpaste is proprietary, most
toothpastes contain the same basic ingredients. These include: fluoride, abrasives, detergents, humectants,
thickeners, preservatives, flavouring agents, sweeteners and coloring agents. Some toothpastes also contain desensitizing agents or whitening ingredients.
Which toothpaste is right for me?
In general, any toothpaste will work well for you if it contains fluoride. If you have sensitive teeth, we recommend brushing with a toothpaste that also contains a desensitizing agent.
What is fluoride?
Fluoride is perhaps the most important ingredient in toothpaste. Fluoride strengthens teeth and helps to prevent cavities by hardening (remineralizing) the initial softening of tooth enamel in the decay process. Basically, it makes your teeth more resistant to acids produced by plaque bacteria, as well as acids found in fruit juices, soda and certain foods. In toothpaste, fluoride is found in the form of sodium monofluorophosphate, stannous fluoride or sodium fluoride.
Is fluoride in toothpaste safe for children?
