April 2008 Edition

Yippee! Warm weather is finally upon us.

We certainly deserve every moment of warmth and sunshine after the winter we've had. Such beautiful weather brings delightful thoughts to mind.

"I'm glad I am alive, to see and feel
The full deliciousness of this bright day,
That's like a heart with nothing to conceal;
The young leaves scarcely trembling; the blue-grey
Rimming the cloudless ether far away;"

Excerpt from 'On a Forenoon of Spring' by William Allingham

Have a wonderful Spring season filled with reasons to smile.

Bringing you the World!

Tami goes to Portugal

Tami visited Portugal at the end of March 2008. She stayed in the Algarve and visited Fatima, Lagos, Faro and Sarges. Slowly meandering through cobble-stoned streets and stopping for a drink, she also found time to see some churches and go to the beach.

It was a whopping 28 degrees on the last days of her trip.
Definitely a relaxing and rejuvenating sojourn!

Spring Cleaning
Consider Refreshing your Smile

The weather is finally warm. It's time to get outdoors and start summer projects like gardening, fixing up the house and maybe even renovations. If you are in the mind set for sprucing things up, it might be an ideal time to think about refreshing your smile.

A simple and effective way to "touch up" your smile is by replacing any amalgam (also known as silver or mercury) fillings you have with white ones.

If you're embarrassed by your old fillings and tired of hiding your smile, ask us about composite fillings.

What are composite fillings?

Types of Teeth

There are four types of teeth that make up the 32 teeth in the adult mouth.
Incisors used for biting and tearing food.
Canines used for aiding in the tearing and holding food in place.
Premolars and Molars for crushing and grinding food.

These teeth work together to aid in digestion and to maintain the shape of your jawbone and smile.

A missing or damaged tooth can put the surrounding teeth at increased risk of decay and lead to future problems. It is important to care for and maintain every tooth regardless of their visibility when you smile.

A healthy mouth is essential to a healthy body, so much so that early signs of health problems often appear in the mouth, making regular visits to the dentist more important than you may think.

Come by our office next time you're in the neighborhood, even if it's just to smile and say hi, we'd be happy to discuss your teeth or anything else for that matter.
