Holiday Cheer!

Our holiday gathering was a great success.

On Thursday December 6th, our office celebrated the holidays with some good cheer and delectable fare. There really is nothing better than sharing food and smiles with friends!

Let us all raise a glass and toast in the holiday season and the New Year!

Salute!

A HOLIDAY WISH FROM OUR OFFICE

Please accept the following poem as our gift to you. We hope that it will inspire you as it did everyone in our office. May it also keep you in warm thoughts throughout the season.

A smile...

A smile costs nothing but gives much.

It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give.

It happens in a flash, but the memory of it can last forever.

None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it.

And none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it.

Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away.

Its value is priceless, but only when shared with others.

It brightens the lives of all who receive it, while enriching those who give it away.

A great smile gives so much.

No Holiday is a Holiday from Good Oral Health!

As you gather with friends and family for your magnificent feast this year, it's important to remember oral health because what you eat can reflect on your mouth and teeth.

Proper nutrition is essential to maintaining good oral health. Many times, improving your diet can help prevent tooth decay and gum disease. It's also important to brush and floss after eating those yummy holiday desserts!

Without proper brushing and flossing after meals, harmful acids and bacteria can be left behind in your mouth. Foods high in sugar and carbohydrates can leave behind stubborn substances on teeth and encourage plaque formation. These include, but are not limited to, carbonated beverages, some kinds of fruit juices, and many kinds of starch foods like pasta, bread and cereal.

Although no links have actually been made between gum disease and a poor diet, nutrition problems (including obesity and overeating) can create conditions that make gum disease easier to contract.

BOOKS, MUSIC and MOVIES

Some of our staff recommendations this month:

Dr. Brown: (movie - 2007)
American Gangster
Fast-paced, high adrenaline, riveting action film about the first known black American gangster to supercede the mafia. It'll knock your Christmas socks right off!

Lisa : (movie - 2006)
Curse of the Golden Flower
A visually stunning action drama with spectacular fighting scenes. In Mandarin with English subtitles.

Dragana : (movie - 1994)
Eat, Drink, Man, Woman
A wonderful film about the pleasures of eating and the intricacies of romantic relationships. Food does indeed taste better with company. This is one of Ang Lee's best films.

Kim: (movie - 2007)
Knocked Up
A funny and honest look at love, sex and the expectations between men and women. Not suitable for children (some crude humour involved).

Betty: (movie - 1965)
The Sound of Music
Can you believe I have never seen this before? This movie musical is a story about keeping a family together against all odds. A definite must see.

Tami: (movie - 1990)
Cinema Paradiso
A story of first love and discovery. A must see for every cinema lover. In Italian with English subtitles.

Kristin: (movie - 1997)
The Game : all around suspense.
By far the most engrossing movie I have watched, it will keep you guessing till the end. Starring Michael Douglas and Deborah Unger.
