With the weather warming up outside we tend to find ourselves enjoying the outdoors more frequently.
	Spring cleaning activities such as gardening, cutting the grass, and washing the car all help to keep us active. These activities also expose us to the sun for extended periods of time. In past issues we have reminded you to stretch before undertaking any activity.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind you to apply sunscreen as well! While some sun is needed for your body to produce Vitamin D (essential for calcium absorption), too much sun can be harmful and lead to long term problems. For some tips regarding protecting yourself and your family, especially if you have young children feel free to visit Health Canada at this link.

With all of that said, get out there and enjoy yourselves.

Who loves candy?
I know I do.
I love hard candy, gummies, chocolate, I love it all!

You've been told time and time again that candy causes tooth decay, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the occasional treat. If you are going to indulge, there are some things you can do to limit the damage done to your teeth.

	Try to eat your treat during a meal. There is increased saliva production while eating, which helps to flush out acid caused by bacteria Chewing sugarless gum after a meal increases the amount of saliva in the mouth as well Avoid biting down on hard candy
Stay away from sticky toffees and candy Choose healthy snacks. Your body will appreciate this tip as well Drink water throughout the day Brush your teeth after every meal (even at work)
Remember, if you are going to snack, and only candy will fill the craving, eat in moderation and protect your teeth. Worry about your waistline when you hit the gym tonight!
