This month sure has been one for the records. Although it seems like the snow will never end, remember that spring is just around the corner. |
|
The ample snow creates an abundance of opportunities for winter activities to help you stay active. Don't forget that shoveling snow is an activity! Ensure that is is medically safe for you, stretch both before and after and use proper lifting techniques to protect your knees and back.

February is Heart Month! For more information regarding Heart Month click here. |
It is fitting for Heart Month to have two holidays focused on spending time with family and loved ones. We hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day and enjoyed Ontario's newest long weekend for 'Family Day'. |

Our office is now accepting new patients! If you know of someone who would benefit from our dental services, please let us know. Your confidence and referrals are greatly appreciated!

Are you hesitant to show your teeth when you smile?
Is your smile missing something?
Maybe even a full tooth!
Many people, for one reason or another, have lost a tooth. Reasons range from poor dental hygiene to any variety of accidents. Whatever the reason for the missing tooth we can repair your smile and replace your tooth. A dental implant is often the best choice.
A dental implant is a small prosthetic post that is placed into the bone of the upper or lower jaw. The post functions as the root portion of a lost natural tooth and serves as an anchor for a replacement tooth. |
|
An artificial tooth is then attached to the post. Dental implants can look and feel exactly like natural teeth - in fact, it is likely that no one other than you and your dentist will be able to tell the difference.
Who are dental implants for?

It is recommended that you change your tooth brush at least every four months. This ensures that the bristles are in good condition for cleaning your teeth.
I recommend a soft bristle brush used after every meal with a fluoride tooth paste (and at least one of your daily brushings should be accompanied by a flossing). Your toothbrush should be stored upright after use and never shared.
 |
Also try to avoid letting your toothbrush touch your spouses if you share a holder.
After each use, rinse your brush under cold water, give it a good shake and let it air dry.
Don't cover your 'home use' toothbrush as it may create a place for bacteria to flourish.
If you use a travel toothbrush, replace it after each trip.
|
It is also a good idea to replace your brush after a cold or illness.
If you're interested, ask me about electric toothbrushes on your next visit. Studies have shown that users tend to brush their teeth longer, it could be worth the minor investment. |
