With the last of the snow FINALLY melting we hope it is safe to say that 'Spring is Officially HERE!'

April is proving to be a very busy month!

April 22nd is Earth Day. With such a focus on living a 'greener' life now is the perfect time to do what you can to make changes that will help the earth. We love this site and it offers some fun things to do for everyone including kids.

If everyone does one extra thing a day in terms of conserving energy and not wasting valuable resources we can make great strides in making the earth better... What will you change?

April 19-25
is also Dental Hygienists Week. As you are aware we are so lucky to have a great team of hygienists in the office.

Thank you Lillian, Michele, Lisa, Teresa, Jodi, Karen, and Jackie for the fantastic job you do!

Your oral health offers a window to your overall well being. Proper oral hygiene and early detection of potential problems can greatly benefit your health.

Take a moment during your lunch break today to learn more about Oral Health Month and the benefits of proper oral care. Two great places to start are the Ontario Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association.

The Canadian Dental Association's 5 steps to good oral health are:

Visit your dentist regularly.

Brush your teeth and tongue twice a day using fluoride toothpaste and floss every day.

Eat a well balanced diet.

Check your mouth regularly for signs of gum disease and oral cancer.

Don't smoke or chew tobacco.

The root canal procedure is often the most effective way to save a natural tooth once a cavity, decay, infection or injury has progressed too far for a simple repair.

The outer layer of your tooth is made of a hard substance called enamel. This layer is made to withstand chewing forces and the daily activities of your mouth. It also protects the dentin and pulp portion of your teeth that are connected directly to your bloodstream and nourish the tooth.

The layer of enamel, although strong, is by no means indestructible!
