The colder weather, the beautiful falling leaves and flu season ...Autumn is definitely upon us! With school and schedules back in session and holidays just a fond memory, October is shaping up to be a busy month. In this months edition we wanted to offer you a few reminders as well as give you an update on our climb.

Spring forward ...Fall Back!
By now you've noticed that it seems to be getting darker far earlier. Daylight saving time is no match for the changing of the seasons. We just wanted to remind you to change your clocks back an hour on November 1st before you go to bed.

Fire Prevention Week
Nothing is more important than the health and safety of your family. Fire Prevention Week October 5th to 10th. Remember to change the batteries and test all the smoke detectors in your home and office.

Also remember to practice and remind your family of your escape and emergency plans (especially if you have children in the house)! You can learn more about protecting your family from fire here.

Thanksgiving
We also wanted to remind you that we will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday October 12, 2009.
We wish you a happy Thanksgiving!

If you experience a dental emergency while we are closed, please contact the emergency dental clinic to assist you at 416-485-7121.

Remember to be extra careful on the roads and
have a safe and healthy month,

Dr. Neil
Silver, Dr. Brian Warshafsky and the staff of Rosedale Dental Centre

We are sure by now you have heard a lot about the H1N1 flu virus.
With flu season fast approaching here are some simple ways to protect yourself!

Wash your hands often in warm, soapy water or use hand sanitizer

Cough and sneeze in your arm-not your hand.

Keep common surfaces and items clean and disinfected.

Stay home if you are sick and contact your health care provider if your symptoms worsen.

These little guys are so easy to make!
All you will need is a food processor and some basic ingredients.

What we also love about this recipe is that it is simple and does not involve baking. You can also substitute ingredients and get creative every time you make them.

If you or your child has nut allergies, you can use a seed based butter instead of almond butter you can also use pureed dates or figs. You also have the option of putting in all kinds of super foods like goji berries, spirulina powder, raw cacao etc.
