Hopefully the gorgeous weather outside has given us a preview of what summer has to offer.

This year summer officially begins on June 21. Patio season is ideal for getting together with family and friends, creating countless photo opportunities. If you are interested in bringing out your most beautiful smile for the summer months give us a call or request an appointment here. Now is a great time to discuss the smile of your dreams!

Did you know?
June 21st is the summer solstice, having the longest period of daylight during the year in our hemisphere. If you are looking for a reason to get outside around lunch time, try this: if you look at your shadow outdoors at noon on the 21st, it will be your shortest 'noontime' shadow of the year...That's worth a look!

Summer Break?
If you are planning a trip or your children are getting ready to travel over the summer break, now is a great time to come in for a cleaning and a check-up! Remember, a break from your regular schedule should not include a break from proper oral hygiene!

Have a great month and Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there,

Dr. Neil
Silver, Dr. Brian Warshafsky and the staff of Rosedale Dental Centre

Kathy Update!

Last February our very own Kathy made the choice to quit smoking. To jog your memory here is a little excerpt from her story:

"I am... rather I was a smoker for over 20 years. My reasons for quitting were for obvious health reasons. I had tried numerous times before to quit smoking however was never successful.

Looking back, I believe my biggest challenge was my home environment. I have an entire family of smokers as well as some of my closest friends, which made it hard to quit. Working in health care I felt I should be more of an advocate for a healthier lifestyle.

I finally decided that it was simply time to quit and in order to do so I would need a 'game plan..."

Or is there something missing?

Many people have a missing tooth in the back of their mouth and feel as though, if no one can see it, it's not a problem. This is not entirely true.

While you may not see that missing tooth as causing problems, you run the risk of the surrounding teeth drifting out of position and doing visible harm. Missing teeth also cause your surrounding teeth and gums to become far more susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease. One of the solutions we can offer patients with missing teeth is called a dental bridge.

What is a dental bridge?
