If you are in town for the break you can find some fun events going on in and around the city during March Break you can visit these sites: toronto.com and about.com.

The first day of Spring is March 20th this year and many around the office can't wait.

This is a great time of year to add a lunch time walk and stretch into your routine. Incorporating exercise into your day will refresh your mind, help your body and improve the second half of your work day.

The Team At Mapleview Dental Centre

Many people have a missing tooth in the back of their mouth and feel as though, if no one can see it, it's not a problem. This is not entirely true.

While you may not see that missing tooth as causing problems, you run the risk of the surrounding teeth drifting out of position and doing visible harm. Missing teeth also cause your surrounding teeth and gums to become far more susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease. One of the solutions we can offer patients with missing teeth is called a dental bridge.

This year's Nutrition Month theme is;
Stay active. Eat like a champion.

The Dietitians of Canada website is a great place to start learning about Nutrition Month as well as healthy living habits that can be used to make this your healthiest year ever. For more information about heath month visit this link.

There is a strong link between a healthy diet and a healthy smile!

Making good nutritional choices, especially if started at a young age, helps to maintain healthy teeth throughout your life.

Combining the right nutritional choices with proper dental maintenance helps to ensures proper oral health.

The accumulation of plaque, a film of saliva, mucus, bacteria, and food residue (particularly from food that are high in sugar and starch) that builds up on the surface of teeth, can lead to decay and gum disease.

This build up is limited by consistent brushing and flossing combined with healthy food choices.

Overall, the key to healthy teeth lays in a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, limiting unhealthy snacks, proper oral care, and seeing your dentist on a regular basis.

If you know of someone who would benefit from our dental services, please let us know. We truly appreciate your confidence and your referrals!
